Do you think music wouldn't be so boring nowadays if there was no piracy?

Music evolved rapidly through the 20th century. And I think that's
because of record stores and the music industry (which didn't exist
back in the 19th century). Now everyone downloads music and they never
go to the record store to buy something they've never heard of. It's
obvious that listening to different genres develops your music taste,
and it really shows when you're actually playing music. And that's how
new genres come to life. Musicians combining different music genres
with each other. It's very hard to find something new and fresh by
downloading music. And maybe that's why music hasn't progressed. Maybe
that's why we're stuck with musicians ripping each other off and
idiots complaining about it on the internet. What I say to the people
who say music sucks nowadays (which I think is true) is "we have
brought it on ourselves".
